Will I be hungry during the challenge?
This challenge/cleanse is not designed to starve you, and you are not restricted or limited to the number of times you eat, or the amount you eat - only what you eat. If you do get hunger pangs, make sure that you are really hungry and not just bored or thirsty. If it's a case of real hunger, go for one of the snack recipes, a piece of fruit, or a small handful of nuts, or seeds.
Is it safe to take this challenge if I am Pregnant/Diabetic/etc...
If you are diabetic or any other major health condition taking part in this 5 day challenge will benefit you greatly, however please consult your physician before you decide to do so. And please do not stop taking your medication without consulting your physician.
If you are pregnant, than please consult with your physician before partaking in the recipes. Pregnancy is not the ideal time to start a cleanse. Although my challenge is nutrient rich and nutritionally balanced, it will be slightly detoxifying. Toxins released during the cleanse can pass through to your bloodstream and breast milk. Instead focus on nourishing your body and your baby. Feel free to include green smoothie and other recipes as part of your normal daily diet. The same principles apply if you're breast feeding.
You should avoid cleansing in the following situations without the guidance of a professional care provider in these situations:
- Advanced Cancer
- Under 16 years of age
- If you have an eating disorder
- Kidney or Liver disease
- If you're underweight
How is this different than a diet book?
This differs than a diet book because it's an actual step-by-step plan to get you eating healthy! The suggested meals and shopping list are designed for one person. I suggest you cook the entire recipe and save the leftovers for lunch the following day.
Most recipes makes 2 servings or more, and it's meant to be utilized as leftovers for your week. So you'll need to double the ingredients on your shopping list if a second person in your household will be joining you on the challenge.
