Let’s dive into the sequence:

  1. Cat-Cow Pose (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana): Start on your hands and knees with your wrists under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. Inhale as you arch your back and lift your gaze towards the ceiling (Cow Pose), then exhale as you round your spine and tuck your chin towards your chest (Cat Pose). Flow smoothly between these two poses, syncing your breath with your movement to gently warm up your spine and massage your internal organs.
  2. Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana): From Cat-Cow Pose, tuck your toes under and lift your hips up and back, coming into Downward-Facing Dog. Press your palms firmly into the mat and lengthen through your spine, drawing your chest towards your thighs. Take a few breaths here to stretch out your hamstrings and release tension from your shoulders and back.
  3. Standing Forward Fold (Uttanasana): Step your feet towards your hands at the top of your mat and fold forward, allowing your head to hang heavy and your spine to lengthen. You can bend your knees slightly if needed to release any tension in your lower back. This pose helps to calm the mind, relieve stress, and stimulate digestion.
  4. Low Lunge Twist (Right Side): Step your right foot back into a low lunge position, with your left knee stacked over your left ankle. Inhale as you reach your left arm up towards the ceiling, then exhale as you twist your torso to the left, placing your left hand on the outside of your right thigh. Take several breaths here to deepen the twist and detoxify your body. Repeat on the other side.
  5. Seated Forward Fold (Paschimottanasana): Come to a seated position on your mat with your legs extended in front of you. Inhale to lengthen your spine, then exhale as you hinge forward from your hips and fold over your legs. Keep your spine straight and your chest open as you deepen into the stretch. This pose helps to massage the internal organs and stimulate detoxification.
  6. Seated Spinal Twist (Left Side and Right Side): Sit up tall with your legs extended in front of you. Bend your right knee and cross it over your left leg, placing your right foot on the outside of your left thigh. Inhale to lengthen your spine, then exhale as you twist your torso to the right, placing your left elbow on the outside of your right knee and your right hand on the mat behind you. Take several breaths here to cleanse and purify your body. Repeat on the other side.
  7. Plow Pose (Halasana): Lie down on your back and extend your legs straight up towards the ceiling. On an exhale, engage your core and lift your hips off the mat, bringing your legs overhead towards the floor behind you. Support your lower back with your hands if needed, and keep your neck long and relaxed. This inversion pose helps to stimulate the thyroid gland and improve circulation, promoting detoxification throughout the body.
  8. Corpse Pose (Savasana): Finally, come to lie down on your back with your arms and legs extended comfortably. Close your eyes and allow your body to completely relax into the mat. Take this time to observe any sensations or changes in your body and mind, and simply breathe. Stay in Savasana for as long as you like, allowing the detoxifying effects of your yoga practice to integrate and nourish your entire being.
